Jatni, also known as Khurda Road, is a notable town in the Khurda district of Odisha, India. It is strategically located near the state capital, Bhubaneswar, making it an important suburban hub.

Our Gamechangers

Jatni proudly welcomes seven enthusiastic young individuals spearheading the Young Gamechangers Initiative in their city. These remarkable youth are receiving training in data collection, public space design, and acquiring new digital skills. They are also delving into urban health and sustainable development topics, positioning themselves as future leaders in these critical areas.

  • Monalisa has received a Bachelor’s in Commerce  degree from P.N. Autonomous College in Khurda, Odisha. She is currently preparing for competitive exams for better job opportunities. She also tutors kids in her free time and strongly believes that education is very important for the development of society. She loves to make new friends and is looking forward to being a Communications Champion under the YGI project.

Deepshikha lives in Kudiary, Jatni, with her family and is a motivated and sincere worker. She has completed her undergraduate degree in Physics (Honours) under Utkal University in Odisha. She has two years of remote work experience as a MIS assistant under a state government scheme called Basudha. She is excited to work with the YGI project as a Communications Champion.

Deepak has completed his undergraduate engineering degree from Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management in Bhubaneswar in 2021. He has a keen interest in social services and has been working on developing his digital skills. He is looking forward to being a Communications Champion with the YGI project and have many opportunities to explore his city.

Young Gamechangers Initiative seeks to improve the health and well-being of young people in intermediary cities in India, Senegal and Colombia. Funded by Fondation Botnar, the project is led by UN-Habitat in collaboration with Block by Block Foundation and being implemented with a range of private and public partners including the World Health Organization (WHO), local governments in the selected cities and local youth-led organizations.
